New Jet, New Day
ImageMind – Fighter pilots have a saying after working through procedures in the simulators, “New jet, new day.” We spend a lot of time training in both real life and in the simulators. Simulators give us the ability to practice against worst-case scenarios, whether that is bad guys, or crazy emergencies.  Sometimes things don’t always go as planned and you either get killed, or you crash the jet. In either case the simulator is kind of weird, if you get shot by the bad guys you just freeze in mid-air while the war rages on around you, and if you didn’t successfully eject and impact the ground, you view the sky like a fish under the water. Both cases don’t feel very good, but fortunately it’s just the simulator and your instructor is usually throwing the kitchen sink at you.  In all cases though, after a reset the instructor chimes in and says, “New jet, new day.” What this means is don’t dwell on what happened, just focus on the rest of the mission.  Fighter pilots learn how to do the same thing in real life. Invariably things will go wrong on missions, the weather goes bad, you missed a radio call, you miss a target, whatever it is you just have to put it out of your mind and keep working because the next threat is moving toward you fast. I have watched guys start a kick ass mission then spiral down because of a simple mistake. Isn’t real life the same way? There is a reason everyone knows the adage “Shit happens.” Because it does, but how you deal with it is what matters most. Forget it, move on, hit the reset button and keep on flying, “New jet, new day.”

MackNBee rate it a 3 out of 4 but they have never given a salad a 4, AJAX gives this a  4! This salad was awesome and easy, the dressing was unbelievable.  Thanks Julie Montagu!

Spirit – Psalm 103:11-12 “For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”
I think this is the ultimate “New jet, new day!”
