This week is Pentagon Wars Week; no better way to kick it off than with sequester shenanigans. Me and my fellow Pentagon Pawns have been churning on questions late into the evening, “What happens if you cut out 18% from the budget?” Simple, “You have to do 18% less!”
The first definition is kind of funny. What is being hidden? The American people’s money? Not really sure.
I find the second definition ironic, “Placing the property of the bankrupt into the hands of a trustee.” Who are the bankrupt?  Congress, or the American people? Both? Who is the trustee? Not really sure here either.
If there is any reason to hit the gym this has got to be it.

Work on squats and core strength.  If there is one exercise that I would say does more for your total body than any other…it is squats.  Don’t injure yourself, start light, do air squats if required (meaning no weigh, just you) but focus on good form. Eyes up, feet slightly wider than shoulder width, core tight, back naturally arched, chest up, lower until thighs parallel.

Serves – 4
Prep time – 30 minutes active, 45 minutes total
Nutrition – 260 calories, 14 grams fat, 3 grams fiber
Ingredients
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
1 4-ounce can or jar yellow curry paste
3/4 pound carrots, peeled, cut into 1/2″-thick rounds
1 medium onion, chopped
1 red bell pepper, cut into 1″ pieces
1 pound Yukon Gold potatoes (about 3), peeled, cut into 1/2″ pieces
1 pound skinless, boneless chicken thighs, cut into 1″ pieces
1 13.5-ounce or 15-ounce can unsweetened coconut milk
Chopped fresh basil and cilantro
Directions
1) Heat oil in a large heavy pot over medium heat. Add curry paste and cook, stirring, until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add carrots, onion, and pepper and cook, stirring occasionally, until onion is translucent, about 10 minutes.
2) Add potatoes, chicken, coconut milk, and 1 1/2 cups water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until chicken is cooked through and potatoes are tender, about 20 minutes. Divide curry among bowls and top with herbs.
